God moves at Aldi
I was at Aldi yesterday and as usual there were only two checkouts open and long lines at each. I started loading my items on the belt, not realizing the gentleman behind me only had three things. (I felt like a jerk inside for not seeing that earlier and letting him go ahead of me.) When it was time to pay, I asked the cashier to add the gentleman’s items to my bill. The guy looked at me and said, “You don’t have to do that.” I said, “I know, but I like to do that for people occasionally and I should have let you go ahead of me anyway.” He said God bless and we both walked to our cars.
As I was loading my items in the back of my vehicle, he drove up, rolled his window down and said, “What you did really impacted me. You don’t even know me. I have a good friend who is trying to cheat me out of money right now. I can’t believe what you did when you don’t even know me. I may cry.” I looked at him and said, “Money can bring the best or worst out in people. Have a blessed day.”
He smiled, drove off and I was left with a happy heart. It’s funny what paying for a bag of salad and two packages of cheese will do. I hope his heart is happy too.
